Variations include the buyer claiming they are a third party and that the excess amount that needs to be wired is their fee.

Wiring Funds - a seller tells the buyer they will ship the bike to them but they require an upfront wire transfer to cover shipping costs. this scam usually involves an overseas seller.

Fake Escrows Sites - Be sure to use only reputable escrow services as there is a recent proliferation of fake sites. These sites are often recommend by either the buyer or seller (who is actually part of the scam), but once you send them your money they disappear.
